About
Karly Allen will be your guide in this online mindfulness session. Be in the moment as we look closely at the National Treasure, 'Venus and Mars', by Sandro Botticelli.
What can we see as we slowly explore this painting of two lovers in repose? One is alert, resting on a pillow. The other sleeps soundly while mischievous creatures play around him. What lines do you see in this painting? How do they draw your gaze? These are the kinds of questions we will consider at this Members' mindfulness session.
Mindfulness is a meditative practice which focuses on being aware of what you are sensing and feeling without judgement. This session will apply mindfulness to how we experience art.
No previous experience of mindfulness is needed. We invite you to find a quiet space and to get comfortable for this restorative session.
