Access to the Library

The Library is open, by appointment only, to external researchers who need to consult material which they are unable to find elsewhere in London. The collection is available for reference only and the Library does not lend to individuals or through the inter-library lending service.

No on-line catalogues exist at present, but a range of card catalogues and indexes provides bibliographic access to the Library collections.

Making an Appointment

Anyone wishing to use the Library should write, telephone or email in the first instance to find out whether we have the required material. Because accommodation is limited it is essential to make an appointment before each visit.
