Make a Difference and Join us Behind the Scenes

There are many fascinating areas of the Gallery that need your support, whether you give individually or via a trust or foundation.

Every donation, large and small makes a real difference to us and helps us to continue to open our doors to millions of visitors each year who come to experience the great masters first hand.

For generations, support from individuals like you has enabled us to do so many things, from acquiring major paintings such as Raphael’s Madonna of the Pinks, to buying original frames which transform paintings.

With your support we can also continue our community and outreach work. The Gallery’s education team prides itself on its grass roots teaching, with 80,000 school children visiting each year to learn about the paintings in a fun and interactive way.

Outreach work gives young people, who may be disadvantaged or from isolated communities, a chance to be inspired by great works of art they would otherwise never have the opportunity to see.

By making a donation you will help us to keep our doors open and manage the considerable day-to-day costs of running the Gallery, making sure the paintings are safe and are kept in suitable conditions for generations to come.

Please make cheques payable to The National Gallery. If you are a UK taxpayer, we ask you to fill out a simple Gift Aid form. This will enable the Gallery to claim an additional 28% of your gift from the Government.
