Master of Moulins (Jean Hey)

The Master of Moulins is so called from a triptych in Moulins Cathedral. The triptych shows the donors Pierre II, Duc de Bourbon, his wife Anne de Beaujeu and their daughter Suzanne, on the wings. Suzanne was born in 1491 and the picture is usually dated, from her apparent age, to about 1498. Pierre II died in 1503, which is presumably the latest possible date. Jean Perréal and Jan Provoost have both at times been identified as the Master.
