Curatorial panel discussion
About
After more than two years of building works, the transformation of the Sainsbury Wing is set to reshape the National Gallery for its third century and the next generation of visitors. To celebrate this historical moment, we're celebrating with a special panel discussion in the newly reopened Pigott Theatre, hosted by National Gallery curators, exclusive to National Gallery members.
The reopening of the Sainsbury Wing coincides with a complete redisplay of over 1,000 of the collection's most renowned and beloved works collected for the nation over the last 200 years. Christine Riding (Director of Collections and Research and Curator of British Paintings) leads the panel, inviting the curatorial team to share their fascinating work on 'C C Land: The Wonder of Art'.
She will be joined by Per Rumberg (Jacob Rothschild Head of the Curatorial Department), Bart Cornelis (Curator of Dutch and Flemish Paintings), Laura Llewellyn (Curator of Italian Paintings before 1500), and Christopher Riopelle (Curator of Post 1800 Paintings), who will discuss some of the highlights of the new display.
We look forward to welcoming you either in-person or online and discovering a curatorial perspective on The Wonder of Art.
