About
To celebrate the end of Art Road Trip’s year-long voyage across the UK, this public event brings together local communities and families to explore the theme of 'journey' – through wings and feathers found in the National Gallery collection.
Inspired by our beautiful depictions of angels, birds and mythical creatures, this drop-in creative workshop for all ages invites visitors to choose their own inspiration from the collection. Then you can create your own feathers, contributing to a collaborative artwork symbolising movement, transformation and Art Road Trip's journey back to the Gallery.
Art Road Trip
From May 2024 to May 2025, our travelling art studio programme, Art Road Trip, is visiting 18 places across the UK.
Working with 24 local arts organisations to create community-led arts projects, in each location we’re designing events for people with the least access to creative opportunities and the arts.
Over the year, our mobile art studio has hosted around two hundred public events and worked with thousands of people – bringing art and ideas inspired by the National Gallery Collection right to where they live.
This event marks the conclusion of Art Road Trip's year-long journey.
