About
Join us for a very special evening with Van Gogh: Poets and Lovers.
We are opening our doors after hours for an enhanced evening, offering a quieter time to experience the once in a lifetime exhibition.
Your ticket gives you late access after the Gallery closes to the public, to view the Van Gogh exhibition at your leisure.
Plus, we have planned a few other events to enrich the exhibition experience.
There will be two free talks hosted in Central Hall. The first talk from Michael Glover, starting at 6.45pm is as an ode to Vincent Van Gogh who was an impassioned reader of poetry. Michael Glover will read from his latest collection of poems, 'Vincent's Poets', published to mark our exhibition.
The second talk starting at 7.30pm, will be led by Allison Crawbuck, Director of 'The Absinthe Parlour', who explores the libations of Van Gogh's era focusing on absinthe in the Belle Époque.
If you're a member and joining us for this special evening, you'll be able to take advantage of your Member discount at both the Getty and exhibition shop for some well-timed Christmas shopping. (The event just so happens to fall within Members' Shopping Week too!). If you're not a member, there'll be opportunity to sign up on the night and understand what exciting events and activities are to come to the National Gallery membership scheme.
All talks are free to attend and first come, first served. There will be refreshments available to purchase throughout the evening and a complimentary drink offered upon presentation of a valid entry ticket. Please note that timings are staggered to manage capacity and only the exhibition rooms will be open. The rest of the Gallery will not be open.
