The costumed Gallery
About
To coincide with the opening of the Roden Centre for Creative Learning, students from UAL Wimbledon College of Arts’ BA Costume for Theatre and Screen, and BA Production Arts for Screen, have collaborated to bring to life some of the National Gallery's most famous paintings. With the brief of celebrating our collection in its Bicentenary year, students created bespoke costumes, brought to life in a series of short films set in original digital environments inspired by the various artworks they explored.
This drop-in display in our new Creative Space showcases the films produced alongside some of the costumes created for them, revealing how our paintings continue to inspire creative practitioners today. The display remains open on Saturday 1 and Sunday 2 March, 11am–4pm.
