Looking at artworks through drawing
About
In this guided tour around the collection, Sarah Ciacci asks, 'When do we really look at paintings?'
On the tour Sarah will encourage you to look at a group of artworks, taking your time to really look at them. Using the method of drawing and other activities that focus attention, you will begin to notice details that you might ordinarily miss. Take time to look at the composition of paintings and observe the brushstrokes, leading to a deeper understanding of what you're looking at.
You will have the opportunity to ask questions about the paintings and their history, as well as discussing the works with the group. This is a tour suitable for all levels, exploring how drawing as a practice can help us fully appreciate a work of art and relax.
