Immerse yourself in the letters of Vincent van Gogh in this online event.
Van Gogh left behind hundreds of letters which give us a glimpse into his life, his thoughts and his relationships with friends and family. Read Van Gogh's own words as he describes his creative process, his frustrations and his joys, and the pull of his many interests. Most of all, feel Vincent’s love of art.
Art historian Jacqui Ansell will lead this special Members’ event. She will share insights and stories, highlighting letters he wrote to friends and family, particularly his brother, Theo, during his time in Arles and Saint-Rémy.
There will be time for questions at the end of this event.

Jacqui Ansell is an experienced lecturer who has devised talks and tours based around the National Gallery’s collection for many years. She lectures on art and cultural history for the Wallace Collection, National Portrait Gallery and the Arts Society and is Senior Lecturer at Christie’s Education, writing, presenting and tutoring online courses.
