Members' talk and Q&A
About
Artists across the centuries have harnessed the power of the eyes, particularly in matters of love. Award-winning art guide Muriel Carré leads this online talk about the look of love.
Muriel has hand-picked a selection of paintings by Sandro Botticelli, Lorenzo Lotto, Lucas Cranach, Rembrandt, Pieter de Hooch, Nicolas Poussin, Joseph Wright of Derby and many others to explore how artists capture the gaze of love.
Love at first sight, the alluring look of a classical goddess, the ardent look of voyeurs, the confident gaze of the heroic wife, a couple of lovers lost in each other’s eyes, furtive looks exchanged while playing music and more stories from our collection will be unveiled and studied during this online Members’ talk with Q&A.
