Correspondence with Adrian Bury and Mr F.J. Nettlefold re the latter's offer to present four pictures to the National Gallery ('Cottage Girl with Dog and Pitcher' by Gainsborough; 'Morning: Higglers Preparing for Market' by Morland; 'The Sandpits' by Linnell; 'Still Life' by Pieter de Ring'), the Gallery's acceptance of his 'Still Life' by Pieter de Ring only and their recommendation that he should offer his British pictures to the Tate, Mr Nettlefold's subsequent invitation to the Trustees to make a selection of pictures from his collection and the Gallery's acceptance of the Brussel 'Flower-piece'.
