Description
Copy of a case "As to the non delivery of 2 pictures bequeathed to the Trustees of the National Gallery by the late Jacob Bell". Consists of copies of NG3/615/5-7, letters from Bell's executors requesting assistance from the trustees with regard to getting the pictures back from Gambart, an extract from Bell's will and an extract from the Board minutes. The Attorney General and Solicitor General have replied on the page stating how best to go about getting the pictures back.
