Description
From Hotel du Louvre Paris: Eastlake wants to know if the transfer Borgognone (No. 298?) to cloth was successful. He gives his views on the Pettenkofer process. He has acquired from Casa Monga in Verona firstly an altarpiece by Girolamo da Libri [sic] for which he gives the history of the picture; and secondly, Giolfino portraits. He describes their previous framing. These three pictures will be relined and restored by Molteni in Milan. Eastlake made an offer to Count Portalupi for a Cavazzola [Morando]. Eastlake bought the Sassoferrato and gives the history of the picture. He made an offer to Count Castelbarco for an Altobello Melone.
