Description
Fairfax Murray recommends paintings in the Manfrini Collection. One he says is attributed to Fra Filippo but he thinks may be either a Verrocchio or a Pollaiuolo. He gives reference to it as number 162 in the catalogue (printed 1872). He refers to it later as "the so called Lippi" and says it hangs between two bad copies of Paolo Veronese. There is a recommendation of a signed Bissolo. He also comments on Burton's interest in the Torrigiani pictures (which he says he's heard about from Miss Forbes[?]). He ends by saying that he has been making studies in water colours from Carpaccio for Ruskin.
