Description
Re the disputed bequest of the late Richard Charles Wheeler. The Director and Trustees desire that the sum of £1800, the value of his real estate claimed by the Crown under the Mortmain Act, is passed to the Gallery for the purchase of British School landscape pictures as intended by the testator.
This memorial was not sent out: it has been struck through in pencil and an annotation at the top of the first page states 'cancelled' and refers the reader to p158 [NG6/5/221]
