A Gallery housemaid, Mrs Cooper of 5 Bedfordbury, St Martins Lane W.C, has been ill for several weeks and consequently unable to work. Her illness is now preventing her from returning to work at all. She has worked at the Gallery for over [25] years and is now in serious poverty, under the circumstances Eastlake wonders whether anything might be done to assist her. Cooper's salary is £20 16 a year.
