Description
Conveying the request of the Trustees of the National Gallery that the decision
given by the Lords Commissioners of H.M. Treasury regarding the Superannuation
Act of 1859 be reconsidered in light of the fact that the Director was appointed
prior to the change in his position. A long argument in protest against the
removal of the Director from the benefits of Clause IV, which the Trustees feel
will have a detrimental effect on the National Gallery. Also carries an argument
in favour of the inclusion of the Keeper of the National Gallery in the benefits
of the Superannuation Act 1859 on the basis of the arduous nature of his duties.
