Description
Reaction to a third letter from 'Amator Aritum' to the Times in which the correspondent claims that the rule obliging all Trustees to agree to an acquisition for the Gallery before it can go ahead no longer exists, but used to be enforced and has led to several important works being lost for the nation. Lansdowne wishes to make clear that no such rule has ever existed.
