Letter (12 Aug 1888) from Briton Rivière to [Sir William] Agnew expressing regret that he finds himself in disagreement with [Sir William] on the question of Home Rule for Ireland. He is following "simple and direct principles of liberalism' but hopes one day to find himself and [Sir William] on the same side. He agrees with remarks [Sir William] has made regarding Frank Holl regarding the definition of 'mannerism' and artists of distinct style. He states that his wife is progressing well after an apparent illness.
