The International Consultative Committee for the Restoration of the Memlinc Triptych The Mystic Marriage of Saint Catherine, was established in the 1970s. It was concerned with restoring the middle panel of the triptych (which was situated at the Hospital of Saint John in Brugges) and uniting it with the outer panels [that were already in Brugges museum]. Davies was asked to sit on the Committee, which met in Brugges in 1974.
