Writes about her hope to have seen him on two recent occasions including 'the conversazione in honour of Rosa Bonheur', noting 'I hope you have seen something of this wonderful little woman with her boyish head, her simple manners and her glorious art'. Also refers to a speech which alluded favourably to Lady Eastlake made by the Lord Mayor, but whom she dismissed as 'a buffoon'.
