Abstract
Following conservation of Christ before Pilate and The Coronation of the Virgin by the Master of Cappenberg, it was decided that the thinned panels were too weak and flexible to be reframed. The article gives details of the panel trays constructed to hold the painting against a cushioned auxiliary support.
