National Gallery Imaginarium

Spark your imagination in a virtual space to interact with our paintings.

This new experience combines soundscapes, guided interaction, poetry and animations, to help you pause and see your paintings afresh. Let us take you on a journey to explore your own relationship with art, whether you know just a little or a lot. Here your only limitation is your imagination.

Come to the National Gallery Imaginarium in your own time at home, on the bus, or wherever you might be.

The experience is designed to function either as a solo experience, or share the conversation between families, friends, or teachers.

Enter a world within a world,
The world of art, a richer world
than you ever imagined.
Where does the magic of art reside?
In the work or in you?
Or in the meeting of mind and art?

Extract from The Imaginarium by poet and novelist Sir Ben Okri
