Boccaccino worked in Genoa in 1493, in Ferrara from 1497 to 1500, and in Venice, but he spent most of his time working in Cremona, especially from 1506. Vasari claims that Boccaccino was 58 years old at his death; he may therefore have been born around 1465/6.
His style reflects Ferrarese and Venetian influences. He was a painter of frescoes as well as panels.
