Soldera was born in Cappella Maggiore, near Treviso. He trained with Cesare Tallone (1853–1919) at the Brera academy in Milan. First specialising in frescoes, and producing the decorations for churches in his native region, he went on to gain a reputation for portraits and landscapes.
