Jan Cornelisz. Vermeyen

Jan Cornelisz. Vermeyen was born in Haarlem. He worked in Malines and elsewhere, chiefly as a portraitist for the Regents of the Netherlands, Margaret of Austria and Mary of Hungary. He also worked for the Emperor Charles V (whom he accompanied on the Tunis Campaign of 1535). There are some signed pictures by him, and many attributed portraits, some of which show members of the Emperor's family, the Habsburgs.
