Technical Bulletin Volume 10, 1986
Abstract
The treatment of Ercole de' Roberti's The Last Supper is described. The cradled panel was extensively restored in the past and the restorations had discoloured. The examination, and subsequent treatment, revealed information contributing to the attribution of the panel and confirmed the original purpose of the piece as part of a tabernacle door. Some pigments are identified. A radiograph of the panel is included.
