Individuals, Trusts and Foundations
The support of individuals, trusts and foundations enables us to care for our great works of art and engage millions of people each year, promoting an understanding and love of art.
The support of individuals, trusts and foundations enables us to care for our great works of art and engage millions of people each year, promoting an understanding and love of art.
As a charity we rely on support from individuals, trusts and foundations to help us care for and share the national collection. Donations and grants help to make a wide range of projects possible, including our exhibitions, learning and public programmes, curatorial posts and painting acquisitions. They also enable us to conserve and re-frame paintings, carry out ground-breaking research, and continue to widen access to this world-renowned collection.

Another way for supporters to become closely connected with the Gallery, is by joining one of our Giving Circles, which include the Director’s Circle and Benefactors’ Circle. These groups of major donors become part of the National Gallery family, enjoying a close connection with our collection and world-class experts, while providing important philanthropic support.
Thank you to all those, past and present, who have generously supported the Gallery.
A list of our current supporters can be found in the Annual Review.
