Dr Gabriele Finaldi
Director
Dr Finaldi was previously Deputy Director for Collections and Research at the Museo Nacional del Prado, Madrid, a position he took up in 2002.
Prior to his role at the Prado, he was a curator at the National Gallery between 1992 and 2002 where he was responsible for the later Italian paintings in the collection (Caravaggio to Canaletto) and the Spanish collection (Bermejo to Goya).
Paul Gray
Deputy Director and Chief Operating Officer
Paul began his career in arts and heritage in 1995 as a marketing specialist. After senior roles at Kew Gardens, Turner Contemporary in Margate, and Historic Royal Palaces, he joined the National Gallery Executive team in May 2018 and is now Deputy Director and Chief Operating Officer.
Andy Hibbert
Director of Finance and Resources
Andy qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 1991 and a Chartered Tax Advisor in 1994. He spent his early career in the private sector working in FMCG, Hotels and Leisure, Energy, Logistics and Wine Wholesaling. In 2006 bored of endless wine tastings he decided to try something a little bit different.
Jane Knowles
Director of Public Engagement
Jane is Director of Public Engagement, leading the Gallery’s Exhibitions, Learning, Communications and Design programmes onsite, nationally and internationally to create exciting and meaningful opportunities for audiences.
Susan Noonan
Chief Commercial Officer, National Gallery Global
Susan is the Chief Commercial Officer of National Gallery Global Ltd, leading all commercial and revenue driving activities, including Retail, Hospitality, Licensing, Publishing, Ticketing and Membership.
Anh Nguyen
Director of Development
Anh Nguyen is the Director of Development, spearheading the £95 million fundraising campaign for the Gallery’s bicentenary in 2024. In addition, she leads on fundraising efforts for picture acquisitions, exhibitions, learning, scientific research and conservation.
Christine Riding
Director of Collections and Research
Christine Riding was appointed Director of Collections and Research at the National Gallery in February 2023, having been the Jacob Rothschild Head of the Curatorial Department and Curator of British Paintings for four years.
John Stack
Director of Digital, Innovation and Technology
John was previously Digital Director of the Science Museum Group, a position he took up in 2015, where he was responsible for setting and delivering the Group's digital strategy. Prior to joining the Science Museum Group, John was Head of Digital at Tate for ten years and before that he was an editor at the art, design and architecture publisher, Phaidon Press.
